Tyrolean

Insider Tip

The Tyrolean Williams Brandy should not to be stored in the refridgerator or anywhere below 8°C!

About the Williams Pear Brandy

Did you know that the best Williams Christ Pears are cultivated on the higher situated areas in South Tyrol? The fruits from there are exposed to high fluctuations in temperature during the ripening stage and therefore develop their extraordinary spicy and aromatic characteristics exceptionally well in this region.

For our exquisite Tyrolean Williams Brandy we only use sun-ripened, hand-picked Williams pears with the typical Williams aroma! Only the best quality produce (Herzstück) from the distillation process is used in the making of this Tyrolean Williams Brandy. The result is a 100% pure, unfiltered distillate of absolute prime quality, which after complete fermentation and double distillation is left to mature cautiously for at least two more years.

Tip for connoisseurs

"Your genuine Herzstück piece of Tyrol" best releases its fruity aroma when served in tulip-shaped brandy glasses at a drinking temperature of between 16 and 20°C!

Where does the Williams pear come from?

The “Williams Christ” pear variety was discovered in England as an accidental collection at the end of the 18th century and received the name of its first propagator, the tree specialist Williams of London: originally “Williams Bon Chrétien”. In England it received the name “Stair Pear” and in Canada / USA it was called “Bartlett of Boston”.

Already by the middle of the 19th century, the Williams pear was better known in Belgium than in England and became well known in Europe, also in North and South America, thanks to the Belgian fruit specialist Van Mons.
